Gavi, a small village in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India, which is located 28 km southwest of Vandiperiyar; a small town on the NH 220. It is inside the Ranni reserve forest. It is a part of Seethathode Grama Panchayath in Ranni Taluk and it is part of the Periyar Tiger reserve.

Gavi’s evergreen forests are abundant with wildlife, including the Tiger, elephants, Leopards, Bears, Indian Gaur, sambar, barking and mouse deers, Lion Tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Marten and more than 260 species of birds, including the great pied hornbill, woodpecker, and kingfishers. Gavi is mainly known for its wildlife. Endangered species including the Nilgiri Tahr and Lion-tailed macaque are often seen at the outskirts of this place. Kerala’s very own treasure elephants can be sighted abundantly in this forest.
